DETAILS

As part of GAEP's outreach, we sponsor a yearly scholarship of $1,000 made to a  deserving undergraduate student attending a Georgia university or college and who seeks future employment within the environmental realm. Our scholarship program is funded in great part by our yearly golf outing and depends on the generosity of the environmental professional community.

Environmental professionals from across the state attend this golf outing.  These professionals are involved with regulatory authorities, transportation, consulting, law, remediation, mitigation, and all aspects of the environmental community. The golf scramble is the biggest fundraising event of the year for the GAEP and will take place in the fall of 2017 at Heritage Golf Links in Tucker, Georgia. We are most grateful to our corporate and individual sponsors for this annual event. Your contributions make a positive impact for students reaching to be come the next generations environmental professionals.

Originally opened in 1996 as “Heritage Golf Club,” the golf course was nominated that year as one of the “Best New Golf Courses in America” by Golf Digest magazine. Today, the golf club still boasts one of the highest slope ratings in Georgia. The golf course is designed around a 20-acre lake, with water in play on several holes. The course’s rolling terrain and dramatic elevation changes provide stunning vistas. The course and event are open to golfers of all skill levels!

You may sign up as an individual or with your own foursome (see next page for pricing details). Each golfer’s registration includes green fees for 18-hole course, golf cart, snacks, dinner, prizes, and free green fees on a return visit. Sponsorship opportunities are available.  Funds collected from players and sponsors will be applied towards the annual GAEP scholarship program to assist a student at a Georgia college or university studying an environmental field. Any contributions of prizes or gifts from your business would be welcome and appreciated, as well. For the last three years we have raised enough funds to sponsor one undergraduate student and our goal is to be able to sponsor two students in the future.

We are looking forward to your participation!
