Environmental Scientist 1 - (178129)

HDR is looking for an Environmental Scientist 1 to serve as Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Office of Environmental Services (OES) Ecology and Permitting Support Services staff. This position will be based in Atlanta, GA. This individual will plan and assist with small to medium-sized environmental tasks/projects supporting HDR’s transportation as well as renewable energy, power, water/wastewater, and oil and gas projects.

  • This position will involve assisting with field collection of environmental data, including stream and wetland delineations, protected species surveys, and habitat assessments, as well as the preparation of environmental permit applications, reports, and studies. 

  • Will share remote work and fieldwork opportunities working directly with GDOT staff and resource agencies on transportation projects throughout Georgia.

  • Experience with ecological/biological fieldwork including habitat assessment and species survey are also favorable skills.

  • Candidate must have strong writing skills and be able to work closely with clients and team members to prepare and facilitate professional, well-written, technically accurate documentation.

  • Will also participate in agency outreach and coordination and assist senior staff in environmental task assignments as requested.

Senior Ecologist/Project Manager

Pond is seeking a Senior Ecologist/Project Manager to join our growing EWR (Environmental and Water Resources) team. The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 10 years of related experience focused on detailed permitting and regulatory review on a variety of public and private projects. The successful candidate would help grow and develop our EWR team in one of the following offices: Atlanta, GA; Jacksonville, FL; or Tampa, FL, and mentor junior staff, and manage various projects. As part of EWR’s leadership team, the successful candidate would interface with clients, pursue opportunities, serve as a thought leader, & help Pond’s brand in the southeast region.

Senior Environmental Project Manager

HDR is looking for a Senior Environmental Project Manager for our Resources Business Group (RBG) Environmental and Regulatory Team, to be based out of HDR’s Atlanta, GA office. The Senior Environmental Project Manager must be an experienced environmental professional with strong working knowledge of and relationships across Georgia’s environmental regulatory landscape. They must enjoy managing environmental and permitting projects and project teams in support of private sector energy and infrastructure projects and a natural “seller/doer” for environmental services. They must work well autonomously, but also have excellent communication skills and enjoy collaborative organizations and environments. They must be proficient in the preparation and management of environmental permit applications, natural resource assessments, and biological assessments.
