Position Available

Ecologist

Seeking qualified candidate for environmental and ecological services for a full time position based in Atlanta, Georgia. The qualified candidate will be responsible for ecological field surveys, preparation of ecology reports, permit and stream buffer variance applications, and scope and price of projects. The qualified candidate must demonstrate strong terrestrial and aquatic species identification skills and be proficient in state and federal document reporting requirements. The qualified candidate must be able to write at a professional level and present ideas in a well-thought out and comprehensive manner.

In addition, the qualified candidate will work as part of a team of environmental professionals to support preparation of various environmental documents, such as those required by the National Environmental Policy Act, to coordinate other environmental resource studies, and to assist in identifying project alternatives to avoid/minimize impacts to identified ecological resources. Applicants should be highly self-motivated with the ability to perform detail-oriented work. Experience in the Southeast is preferred. Some overnight travel will be required and the qualified candidate may be required to manage staff.

Senior Scientist/EcologisT

HNTB Corporation’s Environmental Planning Practice currently has a need for a Senior Scientist/Ecologist in our Atlanta, Georgia office (vacancy ID: 0117-15154). The candidate will work with a team of planners and scientists under supervision to help perform environmental studies and compliance activities for a wide range of assignments associated with large, complex transportation, municipal and rail/transit projects. Knowledge of the NEPA process and environmental regulations and requirements is required. A good grasp of technology and ability to adapt and work quickly in a fast paced environment is highly preferred.
